Wondercast: the first hyper-personalised podcast making culture more accessible
Norday is developing a groundbreaking AI tool called Wondercast, with its first application created for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. This AI-powered tool generates personalised podcasts for culture visitors, helping them prepare for what they’ll see, hear and experience. The aim is to offer new audiences in the cultural sector an engaging experience that encourages them to return. Thanks to funding from Cultuurloket DigitALL, the tool is being developed in collaboration with Luxor Theater, DeLaMar and the Theateralliantie.

On-the-spot personalised concert preparation
Wondercast prepares new concertgoers based on their interests and prior knowledge of classical music. After a short interaction, a script is generated, music is selected from Spotify and a podcast is assembled, featuring your personal host and relevant musical excerpts. All of this happens incredibly quickly and convincingly. The podcasts vary in content, musical fragments, rhythm and length. Whether it’s about the background of a piece, the composer, the role of specific instruments or the conductor – everything is tailored to the user’s preferences.
Our research shows that people who feel prepared for a concert are more likely to return. This tailor-made preparation offers our visitors a softer landing and a deeper cultural experience. We expect it will give a significant boost to repeat visits, the first tests with the prototype are already promising!

From prototype to performing arts collaboration
The concept was born during an AI Design Sprint by Norday and Handpicked Lab, where the first prototype was developed and successfully tested with concertgoers from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. The promising results led to a unique collaboration with Luxor Theater, DeLaMar and Theateralliantie. Together, they will extent the project into other genres such as musical theatre and drama. As a collective, they submitted a proposal to Cultuurloket DigitALL, which recognised the value of Wondercast for the wider cultural sector and provided funding for the project.
Pilot for concert and theatre audiences
The development into a pilot version is being tested with audiences in both concert and theatre venues. The goal is to offer an unforgettable experience, particularly to new visitors, and inspire them to return to cultural institutions.
